Saul, king of Israel is a prime example and warning to us all. Lord let us be obedient to the task you have called us to do.
Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I violated the Lord’s command and your instructions. I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them.”

I was working out at the gym today. I got on the treadmill and started to get things done. About 5 minutes into it I got slapped in the face with some nasty BO. I looked over at the guy next to me and thought “wow that’s like old man and Campbell’s Tomato soup smell going down. I press through and again and again I get hit with the smell. I start to get upset. Not-so-nice thoughts are going through my mind about this person and then he stops and walks off….he’s done. Inside, I rejoice. I smile and keep going. Then, all of a sudden I get hit with it again. I’m like “what? Is he back?” I look around and he is nowhere to be found. So, I get back going on the treadmill and the smell is back again! Then this crazy thought hit me like a ton of brinks. “Wait, could it be me that smells?” And guess what? Sure enough, it was me. If I was offending myself, imagine how much I was offending the guy next me. Then I started to feel bad and embarrassed about what thoughts were probably going through his head about me.

This made me think about my life….and how so many times I’ve gotten frustrated at others when a majority of the time, it was not them….but rather, it was MY issues! Next time, when life hits you and things keep falling apart, or you get offended at others (especially in ministry) or you think no one wants to work with you, or leadership is always holding you back…it might just be YOU that’s holding you back. It might be your attitude and your mindset that could be really offensive.

I think that it is time to check ourselves first, in every situation, to see if our hearts and motives are right. Because there is a good chance that we might be the problem.

James 1:19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Mathew 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Bless ya

<![CDATA[Me On The Radio ]]>Mon, 12 May 2014 16:48:35 GMThttp://www.traymichaels.com/blog/me-on-the-radionot easy being indie
Well, praise God for his favor! I have been able to get my song, "Come on Jesus" onto some radio stations. It has been a lot of work. I don't have a team, a PR guy, or a booking guy...I just got me. I wish I could say that every person I talked to said that "we love your music, this going to change the world!" ....But the reality is, that does not usually happen. If you're not Kutless, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, or Toby Mac, getting your music to the top 3 or 4, Radio stations as a indie artist, is nearly impossible.
My friend, Derek Hoiem, the CEO of Save The City Records said that if you can't get onto the big 3,
then the next best step is to get play on a ton of online and smaller/local stations. That is some good advice!
So, I have been doing just that and I have gotten my music onto some great online and regional stations as well,
Some are on the East Coast & mid-west and they would probably never have of heard my music otherwise.

One way you can help me with this radio push is by contacting the radio stations by calling, emailing and
posting on their Facebook page, simply asking them to play our music! Here are just a few radio stations
that you can contact. You could say, "play that rad song 'Come on Jesus" by Tray Michaels.
You can download " Come On Jesus" and my last CD on iTunes

Thank you for your support!

<![CDATA[Be a Humble Beast]]>Thu, 03 Apr 2014 16:40:21 GMThttp://www.traymichaels.com/blog/be-a-humble-beastLet's not wast time building our self's up but rather lifting up others. Let God lift you up and if he does who can pull you down. It's better and much less painful to humble your self, because when God humbles you its not going to be pretty.

Mathew 23:12
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted
